Manchester United was among the busiest clubs as the January transfer window closed on Monday evening, with several clubs having their offers crossed the line.

Karim Benzema joined Al-Hilal from Al-Ittihad in a major switch for Saudi Arabia, meanwhile Liverpool beating Chelsea to the signing of popular defender Jeremy Jacquet, who will join them this summer.
As for new signings, Manchester United had a tough time for most of the window as they didn’t sign anyone new. Of the six best clubs, it is Manchester City and Tottenham were the only ones to sign new faces, while Chelsea brought back Mamadou Sarr who was on loan at Strasbourg.

However, Manchester United released a number of players, either on loan or on permanent contracts, with academy players leaving in search of regular playing time.
Why Tyrell Malacia was prevented from leaving Man United
Defender Tyrell Malacia was blocked from joining Besiktas on loan shortly before boarding the plane to Turkey.
The move was blocked after an injury to Patrick Dorgu, leaving Luke Shaw as the only fit left-back at the club.
Who has left Manchester United?
21-year-old Sam Mather joined Turkey’s Kayserispor. Mather has been at the club since he was seven and won the FA Youth Cup in 2022. United did not receive a transfer fee but will receive 20% of any future sales.

Joe Hugill, who also won the FA Youth Cup, joined Scottish side Kilmarnock. Hugill joined United from Sunderland in 2020.

I will always be very grateful for my time here, and the memories will stay with me forever,” he said in his farewell message on Instagram.
Rhys Bennett was also sold to Fleetwood Town, where he was previously on loan. He won the FA Youth Cup as captain.
Others who left on loan include Harry Amass, who joined Norwich City but has since picked up a serious injury and could return to the club.
Toby Collyer swapped West Brom for Hull City, while Ethan Wheatley joined Bradford City. James Scanlon will spend the rest of the season at Swindon Town.
Others include Gabriele Biancheri (Rotherham United) and Jacob Devaney (St.Mirren).
Michael Carrick’s side have not been affected by bar injuries, the interim head coach would be confident to do something this season.

Opta’s supercomputer predicted who would win the Premier League after Manchester United clinched it Arsenal last month.
The result reduced Arsenal’s lead to just four points with Manchester City and Aston Villa following close behind. The gap has increased to six points after the latest results.
United have been given a 0.02% chance to win the league.
