The president sent the donations to the church through the governor of Homa Bay Gladys Wanga during the Linda Ground ODM meeting on Sunday, February 1.
How much did Ruto contribute to the Dandora church?
According to Wanga, Ruto contributed KSh 2 million for the construction of the church, while ODM party leader Oburu Oginga contributed KSh 1 million for the same.
“I have a message from the president. Your leaders from Nairobi informed him that we will be here. Recognizing the people of St. Peter’s Enocha, and as an advocate of a bottom-up economic system, he has given me KSh 2 million to bring to them, and I had already deposited it in the bank. Our party leader Oburu Oginga also recognizes this church because it is where his late father worshiped; he sent me KSh 1 million. I will give the documents to the priest,” Wanga said.

The county boss also confirmed that he had also paid KSh 500,000 to the church account and promised another KSh 50,000 for the choir members.
The radical politician promised to visit the church again in April 2026 to supervise the construction progress.
“Construction must be done. I will send him back to check the progress on behalf of all the leaders who volunteered and sent me here with their contributions,” he said.
Why is there conflict within ODM?
Wanga also spoke about the ongoing feud within the ODM party, which stemmed from a section saying that the late former prime minister Raila Odinga he left them in the government and would support the current administration after 2027 and those who have always separated themselves and suggested that the party nominate a presidential candidate in the next General Election.’
He confirmed that the party is still united under the leadership of Oburu.
“If someone like Raila falls, there must be a little conflict within the party, but we will walk on the same road and speak the same language as a party. We will remain together under the leadership of our party, Oburu,” he said.
