“I have no intention of serving in any ministry in William Ruto’s government. I am no longer looking for a ministerial position. I have passed that. What I want now is the seat that Ruto has right now. Do you think he can give it to me? He cannot leave it for me and that is why we are looking for it in 2027. If our elders Musalia Mudavaid and Moses Wetang’ula cannot take it, there are many of us from Mulembe nation ready to take it,” he said.
Earlier, Eugene had indicated his intention to contact the Prime Minister Stay Mudavadi and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula in preparation for the 2027 general election.
While addressing mourners at a funeral in Trans Nzoia on Saturday, January 25, he emphasized that Western Kenya can play an important role in shaping national politics if its leaders work together.
He said that although the region has had four political parties representing its people, only two have endured without being broken.
Eugene emphasized his DAP-K together with Ford Kenya as the true representatives of Western Kenya, stressing that the ANC has joined the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), while the future of ODM remains uncertain due to internal divisions over whether to support the President’s bid William Ruto to be re-elected.
He urged Wetang’ula and Mudavadi to accept the proposal and join forces in building a unity that would defend the interests of Western Kenya voters at the national level.
