The family, consisting of two parents and four young children, became known after their photos went viral in 2025.
The people they met on their amazing journey took pictures and distributed them, showing the various counties they reached.
They have never revealed where they are going or why they chose to walk for years without accepting help or staying in one place.
Who warned about the family?
The parents are often seen carrying two children on their backs, while two others, estimated to be between four and seven years old, walk beside them.

Recently they were seen in various places including Sondu, Kipsitet, Sotik-Bomet road, and more recently Kapsuser heading towards Ngoino road.
Activist Sec Regen Kip expressed great concern about the children being exposed to bad weather, lack of medical services, housing and educational opportunities.
“I have no problem if parents decide to walk alone, but children go through a very difficult life. One child who is being carried looks sick and hungry. The father is also mute. I want the government to intervene so that we understand their situation,” said Sec Regen.
Did the family accept help?
Regen followed them after getting information that they had reached the Samutet area and took them to the Children’s Unit of the Kericho Police Station while making arrangements to provide them with help.
After his post on Facebook, the Member of Parliament for Belgut, Nelson Koech, promised to help the family find permanent housing.
“Please find that family and contact me. I am ready to build them a house and make sure the children go to school. I will also meet with the parents to see how to help them start a new life so that they can learn to work and raise their children,” said the member of parliament.
Following the promise, Regen made sure the family got temporary housing and was well served while they waited for further instructions from the member of parliament.
Good Samaritans come forward to help
After his messages on the internet, well-intentioned Kenyans came forward to provide financial support and other needs.
Regen said he received money to buy clothes for the father as well as children’s clothing, donated by Khalid Industrial Supply.
He also posted photos showing the family’s transformation from wearing dirty and torn clothes to new clothes given to them by philanthropists.
The children were seen smiling, finally having a temporary home after months of wandering the country on foot.
However, the parents continued to keep their secret, with Regen reporting that the mother said they could not explain what makes them move from one place to another.
“Mother has said that when they return home they cannot stay. There is an evil spirit that pushes them to leave the house. Tonight before going to bed, say a prayer for this beautiful family to find stability, peace and a normal life,” said Regen.
Has the family ever refused help?
