Winnie said losing her father is something she hasn’t fully understood, but she’s coping with each day as it comes.

“I think I’m doing the best I can. It’s very difficult to live in a world without him, but I persevere day by day. Some days I’m on the hill, and some days I’m in the valley. But when I get to the wide plain, I’m doing well. We continue the struggle,” he said.

He praised his family for standing by him throughout the grieving process, noting that their relationship has improved following the tragedy.

“I have a great support system. My family and I are very close, and we support each other,” Winnie added.

He further added that the entire Odinga family is slowly getting used to life without their patriarchy.

“My family is doing as well as we can. Everyone is getting used to their new roles and responsibilities, but I think this has brought us closer. We meet every day and talk all the time. We all try our best,” he said.
