Malala claimed that Junet was secretly visiting Ruto and gave him information about the winning strategies that Raila had prepared, which made it easier for Ruto to plan methods to deal with the former prime minister who was running for the presidency for the fifth time.

According to Malala, Junet betrayed Raila by working with him secretly while pretending to be a close ally of Raila.

He supported the recent claims of the Nairobi Senator, Edwin Sifunaagainst Junet.

Sifuna, speaking during the funeral in Mt Kenya area, claimed that Junet misused funds that had been allocated for ODM agents.

“Junet was closer to Raila than even his children. Raila trusted him in everything. Sadly, he was the one who made Raila lose all the elections. Sifuna said Junet misused agents’ money, and I confirm that. I was Ruto’s right-hand man. We were in the UDA. Junet used to come at night to see Ruto and give him all the information. We even had a list of ODM agents across the country. He started betraying Raila when he was alive,” Malala demanded.

However, Kapseret Member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi, defended Junet and called Malala’s claims fabricated on political grounds.

According to Sudi, Junet was never close to Ruto and was among those who had sworn not to work with him at any time.

He said that since they were political enemies, Junet could not think of helping Ruto win the election.

“If there was someone who had sworn not to work with Ruto, then it was Junet. He was among those who hated Ruto. Stop lying,” Sudi told Malala.

The allegations come a few weeks after Junet defended himself against accusations of misusing funds that had been set aside for paying and empowering agents.

Junet explained that the issues of agents in the Unity Declaration campaigns were handled by the former president Uhuru Kenyattawho had supported Raila.

According to the MP, Uhuru entrusted his brother Muhoho Kenyatta with the responsibility of managing the funds of the agents.

Trying to clear the blame, Junet said that Uhuru and Muhoho contributed to the disruption of the coordination of agents, a situation that affected the protection of Raila’s votes.

Despite being predicted to win the election due to the support of the government in power at the time, Raila lost the election to William Ruto.
