Bungoma: Police Officer Abambwa After Being Found With A Man’s Goat Who Decided To Go To A Fortune Teller

Bungoma – The police have launched an investigation following a livestock theft incident involving an officer of the National Police Service (NPS) in Bumula sub-county.

A report submitted at the Mateka Patrol Station, Asisa Juma reported that her female goat, brown in color, was stolen on the night between January 15 and 16 from her compound.

Juma went to several markets looking for his goat, but his efforts were futile, forcing him to seek the services of a local healer.

“It was reported by Asisa Juma one day, c/o 0728743210, a resident of Soko la Mateka, Map Ref XR 669899, about 6 kilometers east of the station, that his brown female goat with white spots on the neck was stolen in the night between January 15 and 16, 2026, from his enclosure. He went to several markets in search of it but the efforts turned in vain and having to seek the services of a local healer,” a report seen by TUKO.co.ke read.

On Tuesday, January 20, at midnight, the complainant heard someone coughing outside his compound, and when he looked, he found a police officer, Kevin Abuga, attached to the Khasoko Police Station, lying under a tree, and he looked worried.

“On January 20, 2026, at about 0000 hours, he heard someone coughing outside his compound, and when he looked, he found Kevin Abuga number 106770 of the Khasoko Police Station, lying under a tree inside the compound, who appeared to be worried,” the statement said.

After restoring normalcy, the official pleaded with the public not to harm him, saying that he was ready to pay three times the value of the goat.

“After restoring normalcy, the officer allegedly begged the public not to harm him and claimed that he was ready to pay three times the value of the goat. The area visited by SCPC Kimaeti, SCCIO, and OCS Bumula,” the report said.
