Muhoozi wrote:
“I, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, am a prophet of God Almighty. I told you the old man would win with the highest percentage since 1996 and it happened. Now I tell you that the NUP will be extinguished from our land like a bad dream.”
Larry, reporting on the post, tweeted:
“Muhoozi promises to ‘remove and shut down’ Bobi Wine’s party after his father’s victory.”
The situation worsened when Muhoozi posted a series of messages threatening to kill the NUP leader, Bobi Wine, while referring to his followers as “terrorists.”
Larry re-quoted those messages on his page and added:
“The Ugandan president’s son is threatening to kill his father’s main opponent (who is in hiding).”
Muhoozi then took direct aim at Larry, sending out an abusive tweet and accusing the CNN reporter of biased reporting.
Initially, Larry asked his followers if he would respond, before finally confronting the general with a direct message:
“Muhoozi, why are you bragging about killing Ugandans who support the opposition? Is it because you are protected by your father, President Museveni?”
