Who faces expulsion from the ODM party?
During the distribution of scholarship checks to needy students in Matisi Ward on Monday, January 19, Amisi did not hold back from criticizing the current ODM leadership.
The MP accused the party leadership of “selling” ODM to the President William Ruto and questioned the ability of Siaya senator Oburu Odinga, the current leader of the party.
Amisi questioned the ability of the veteran politician to lead the Orange party amid the uncertainty of his future, suggesting that Oburu is a puppet.
Citing the MP’s age of 83 years, Amisi suggested that Obiru is waiting to be told something before submitting to ODM supporters.
He further alleged that there was a conspiracy to drive out dissenting voices in the party, emphasizing the Nairobi senator and ODM secretary general Edwin SifunaMember of Parliament for Embakasi East Babu Owino and himself as those singled out for eviction.
“After Baba died, they sold the party to William Ruto. Then they installed Oburu, a man who cannot even speak unless you tell him what to say. Now, my people, I am here with honor to tell you that the party has been sold to William Ruto. They have said Caleb should be fired. They have said Edwin Sifuna should be fired.

Will Amisi’s stubbornness lead to the creation of a new party?
Amisi’s sentiments highlighted a growing sense of betrayal among some young ODM MPs and supporters who feel left out of the existing party structure.
In a clear sign of defiance, Amisi suggested that if the current ODM leadership continues to marginalize dissenting voices, he and his supporters would consider forming a new political party.
“So we have said this, my people: I will come back here, in your honor, and put me in office with or without ODM, because the party is gone. Do you agree? And if they keep pushing, then we will form our party and you will all join it, are you ready?” The MP asked the crowd.

The MP stressed that the move will protect members from the system he sees as stolen, warning that he will remain in ODM.
He claimed that under the current leadership, loyal members are at risk of being denied nomination certificates in the next election.
“We don’t want to be in a party where William is already waiting to deny you the nomination certificate. You can’t play with Caleb. This boy is fierce. William, you can’t play with him,” he said.
