The middle-aged woman attracted public attention when she started the quest despite several warnings from the Ministry of Health about her ability to endure until the end.
“The intervention followed concerns raised by health officials from the County’s Referral and Emergency Services, who recommended immediate medical attention after detecting a change in his condition,” it said Turkana County News Online via Facebook.
According to media reports, the Chief Executive Officer of LCRH, Ms. Nancy Kinyonge, indicated that the hospital will fully cover all medical expenses during the observation period, including medication and nutritional management.

What has Ngipuo gone through?
Priscilla said she has lived with diabetes for about four years, and the situation has been difficult for her.
“Every time I go to the biggest hospital in Lodwar, I lack the medicine I need for this disease. The situation has become very bad. In Kenya, for example, for someone like me, it is not easy to get any help, and when I go to the hospital in Lodwar I am told to buy medicine. I also need a special diet,” he complained.
“Look at the situation of people living with diabetes so that we can get medicine in hospitals instead of pharmacies, because it is very expensive. We should not be left behindvi,” he added.
What did other Kenyans say?
Descemer Krutush: “God help your creatures in this world of ours.”
Daniel Wanjir:I am looking for the contact of Lodwar County Referral Hospital, please help me.”
Rebecca Kwachilinya: “God forbid!”
Isaiah Hendricks:On the other hand, mission accomplished… congratulations, he is now under good care. Now every clever man will hug a tree for some purpose.”
Adi Johny:Congratulations, at least his voice has been heard.”
Okeyo Taylor: “Let these things reach Raila Odinga.”
Prince Kevin Rovanpera: “We Turkana decided not to be left behind.”
Domiç Kè: “I just knew the Turkana sun would bring good results to Ngipuo.”
Abubakar Ibrahim Lokarach: “Now will they say it’s hunger or what?”
The shepherd who was hugging the tree died in the 79th hour
In another incident, Pastor James Irungu, who rocked social media after trying to hug a tree for 80 hours, sadly failed to achieve his goal after collapsing in the 79th hour.
When he appeared in public, some people claimed that he was imitating Truphena, who hugged a tree for 72 hours to complain about the destruction of the environment.
However, the pastor insisted that his only goal was to raise awareness about cancer, a disease that continues to affect many people in the country.
