The MP was rushed to Karen Hospital for treatment, where Gachagua and several leaders associated with the DCP visited him and accused the police of orchestrating the tragedy.

Gachagua emphasized that health experts confirmed that the Juja Member of Parliament underwent torture, which resulted in soft tissue injuries.

He further claimed that Koimburi was injected with a toxic chemical that left him unable to speak, forcing the MP to communicate in writing during their visit to the hospital.

The DCP leader noted that the blood and urine samples were sent to a private laboratory for analysis.

The former vice president made serious claims that the ‘kidnapping’ was carried out by a Kalenjin-only force formed by the Minister of Internal Security Dating Murkomen and Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat, targeting opposition politicians.

Later, Gachagua asked the international community to intervene, saying the President William Ruto he had turned dictator, comparing him to the late Idi Amin of Uganda and Mobutu Sese Seko of the DRC.

But a year later, Gachagua changed his stance, revealing that Koimburi had faked his abduction.

In an official statement issued on Thursday, January 15, the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) led by Gachagua revealed that Koimburi kidnapped himself to avoid the hand of the law.

The party said that Koimburi fabricated the kidnapping allegations, and once Gachagua realized that the incident was a fake show aimed at attracting sympathy, he became wary of him.

The DCP explained that the MP was facing many charges of land fraud, so he devised the plan to avoid legal consequences.

In its statement, the party noted that their leader found himself in shame, thus separating himself from the member of parliament.

The revelation of DCP came after Koimburi announced that he has moved to the opposition and join the camp of Kenya First of Ruto.

The MP mentioned the lack of trust within the DCP, claiming that the party was extorting money from political candidates with promises of tickets for the 2027 general election.

He also said that he wanted to work with the president for the development of his state.
