Catechist James Njoroge, his beloved wife Teresia Wanjiru, and their children Michael Kabari (6) and John Mark Kabui (1) were buried in the cemetery on 14 January.
The Njoroge family attended a church service at Ndundu Primary School, attracting many residents, Catholics, and community members. A sad mood reigned over the large farm full of people who came to say goodbye to the famous catechist and his family.
In videos and photos shared online, tears streamed down the faces of many as they looked at four graves, including those of a six-year-old and a one-year-old.
Were Njoroge and his family buried in the same grave?
The coffins carrying the remains of Njoroge and his family were placed together surrounded by green and white flowers.
Crosses with their names, dates of birth and death were drawn ready to be placed on their graves.
Catholic priests led the service, offering comfort to family and friends during a difficult time.
After the service, the bodies were taken to the grave inside the family farm, where a large grave had been dug.
Groups of church hymns sang, and after prayers and last rites were performed by the church, the coffins were lowered into the grave and then covered with soil.
At that sad moment, many cried and were truly moved as they accepted that they would never again see the catechist they loved, his wife, and their children.
