Mombasa: Kenyans have been moved and saddened by the story of how a visually impaired mother walked to find a place for her son in high school, even though they did not have a single penny of school fees.

Stella Kadzo accompanied her son Teddy to Shimo La Tewa High School to secure his place in Grade 10, even though they did not have any money or requirements for admission.

When they entered the school yard, Kadzo’s son was slowly leading him along the road towards the principal’s office.

The middle-aged mother explained her plight and asked well-meaning Kenyans to help her pay the boy’s school fees.

Teddy, who scored 53 in the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) test, explained that he accompanied his mother to ask the school for permission to reserve his place.

Sergeant Wanyire Ciscoh:

“I saw this mother yesterday on a motorcycle in Malindi when they were heading towards Gongoni… so it was a process of going to school, God give them what they want.”

Monica Nthenya: “Honestly if you don’t have another unique case, this is the case to prioritize.”

Chinese Li Paul: “God, I pray for this work every day to bless me so that I can extend my hand to the less fortunate because I know what it feels like to miss school fees. I was wearing the same shoes as that boy there… well-intentioned, prosperous businessmen, etc., please show your help and God will reward you twice.”

Edons Edons: “Through the BOM they can give this boy funding.”

Connie Funny: “How can I find their address? I’m close to Malindi, I can take them shopping at least.”
