Guy Undergoes 2 Life-Saving Surgery After Tooth Extracted by Allegedly Fake Doctor

Kawangware, Nairobi: A middle-aged man known as Amos Isokha has luck to be alive after a team of doctors at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) rushed to save him.

This happened following a painful incident in which his tooth was pulled out by an alleged fake dentist who owns the clinic. Kawangware. The procedure left him in excruciating pain.

Amos underwent two life-saving surgeries at KNH and is currently still receiving treatment while being closely monitored.

Dr. Edwin Rono, a doctor at the hospital, said they had to rush him to the operating room as soon as he was admitted.

Can tooth extraction cause death?

He explained that the patient’s condition was very bad, and there are cases where people die from infections caused by such procedures.

As of yesterday, the infection had started to decrease in the neck area due to the initial steps we took, but later it spread and now it is accumulating in the chest. The first surgery was successful,” he said.

According to Dr. Rono, Amos survived because he was taken to the operating room the same day the tooth was removed, which was very important to save his life.

Dr. Jane Ngwaro, another KNH doctor, explained that Amos had to undergo a second operation that lasted until almost midnight before being transferred to the intensive care unit.

David Kariuki, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kenya Medical and Dental Council (KMPDC), said preliminary investigations revealed that the clinic where Amos was treated was not registered in their records.

“This was an illegal clinic that was operating without a valid certificate,” he said.

Why was the Malindi doctor arrested?

Mecha Okechi was found attending to patients at the Malindi District Hospital, something that caused consternation among the staff.
