Weeks after candidates who took the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) examination received their results, they started arriving at their secondary schools for Grade 10 admission from Monday, January 12.
Video that went viral on TikTok showed parents taking their children to Alliance Girls High School in luxury cars that filled the parking lot, reflecting the high status of the school.

The parent who shared the video clip was also surprised by the big car show.
“These are all parents who brought their children to school. Just look at that,” the parent said excitedly while sharing the video.
Kenyans share their feelings about the Alliance Girls car video
Kenyans were surprised by the number of cars witnessed during the admission to the high school.
Many appeared in the comments section to show mixed feelings ranging from admiration to debate about the increasing display of wealth.
Others said it is not surprising, considering the great efforts parents put in to ensure their children get a place in the best schools in the country.

Governor Rotich’s daughter joins Alliance Girls
In other news, among those arriving at Alliance was Elgeyo Marakwet Governor’s daughter, Rotich, who was admitted on Monday.
In his post, the governor shared pictures of the family as he and his wife escorted their daughter to Grade 10 admission.
“The joy of every parent is to see their children progress academically. Despite my busy schedule serving the EMC community, my wife and I sent our daughter today to join Grade 10 at Alliance Girls High School.
I thank God when he starts a new page. I wish him and all the Grade 10s all the best as they begin their exciting journey into upper secondary school. We ask God to protect all our children who join various schools across EMC and the nation as a whole,” he wrote on Facebook.
