Uasin Gishu: The Minister of Education, Julius Ogamba, has officially announced the eagerly awaited results of the 2025 National Secondary Education Examination (KCSE).

This has ended weeks of worry for parents and students following what many described as delays.
The 2025 KCSE exam was held from October 21, 2025 to November 21, 2025, covering five weeks of regular exams.
How many students took the KCSE 2025 exam?
According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 996,078 students registered for this exam.
To facilitate this national exercise, the National Examinations Council (KNEC) deployed 10,765 station managers, 12,126 supervisors, 54,782 supervisors, 22,247 security officers, and 2,692 drivers.
The results were announced on January 9, 2025, at AIC Chebisaas High School in the city EldoretUasin Gishu County, after KNEC confirmed that the response testing was completed at the end of December.
President William Ruto previously he said that half of the students got the required grades, of which 50% were girls, placing C+ and above, thus gaining direct entry to the university from the 993,226 students who sat the exam.
Ogamba announced that 270,715 students obtained an average grade of C+ or above, eligible to enter universities.
This release of results came after increased activity in the education sector, including a high-level meeting held at the State House, Nairobi, called by President William Ruto.
