Harrison Nyamu had been missing from his home and his family for over a week, leaving them in great distress.
Nyamu was abducted from his home on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, by unknown armed men.
He returned home on Friday, January 2, very confused, and painfully recounted the ordeal he faced.
“They were wearing masks. They ordered my family and I to lie face down. When we agreed, they handcuffed me, pushed me into the car, and blindfolded me,” he narrated, adding that he was taken to an unknown place.

His wife, Leah Njeri, almost lost her life after she refused to release her husband without a fight. He followed the armed men but was beaten by the alleged kidnappers.
Despite the suffering, he expressed relief that the family’s guardian had finally returned alive.
When Was Nyamu Kidnapped?
The family celebrated the New Year holidays without Nyamu, worried not only about his whereabouts but also about his fragile health, not knowing if he would ever return home.
“He was taken and kidnapped by armed men. I reported the matter to the police station and found people who helped me follow up on the case. Friday, January 2, my husband returned home. I am thankful that he is alive, even though he said he was tortured. My only hope was to see him come back healthy,” Njeri said.
Human rights defenders condemned the incident and asked the police to quickly arrest the perpetrators.
“Please follow the law so that such incidents do not happen. We want the identity of everyone involved to be revealed, so that cases where sick people are tortured despite needing medical services do not happen again,” said Hussein Khalid, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vocal Africa.
