The former minister’s death was the subject of rumors and conspiracy theories, as Kenyans tried to piece together his last moments.

On Monday, January 5, the office of the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) concluded that there was no foul play in the death of the former Lugari MP.

Jirongo died in a head-on accident between his Mercedes Benz and a Climax Coaches bus on the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway near Karai.

What does the alleged video of the accident that killed Jirongo show?

A multi-agency team, including detectives, forensics experts, and medical examiners, interviewed many witnesses including the bus driver and conductor as well as seven passengers.

Investigators processed the scene of the accident, preserved evidence, analyzed CCTV footage from the gas station, reviewed the bus report, and examined videos of the lovers.

They also recorded a statement from the driver of the replacement Climax bus that transported the passengers after the accident.

Initial findings indicated a straight road accident with no evidence of criminal intent.

On Tuesday, December 6, a video allegedly taken by a passenger after the accident that killed Jirongo surfaced on social media.

The amateur video shows many people gathered around a white sedan that had extensive front damage.

A man tried to open the door wider to remove the politician from the wreckage of the car.

Several others joined in and opened the door wide, as onlookers discussed the events before the crash.

“He hit that bus,” one of the men said.

The video was shared to SPM Buzz by a passenger from the bus.

According to the information center, the passenger noted that the passengers had tried to save Jirongo without success.
