The representative of Sikhendu Ward, Andrew Kutitila, wanted to challenge the claim that the President William Ruto he was plotting against Natembeya by pushing the motion to remove him from power.

Whispers of a plot to oust Natembeya began to be heard after the president welcomed all Trans Nzoia MCAs at the Small House of Eldoret Sunday, January 4.

According to Kutitila, the agenda of the meeting with the president was more about the development of Trans Nzoia, noting that the plan to remove Natembeya was not discussed at all. He said the idea of ​​removing Natembeya will not be considered.

“The President invited all the Trans Nzoia MCAs. We told him that Trans Nzoia is an integral part of the Republic of Kenya. We asked him to develop Trans Nzoia as he is doing in other parts of the country.

We heard some leaders spreading the debate to remove Governor Natembeya. We went to discuss important issues concerning Trans Nzoia County. Some think the MCAs will oust Natembeya. They will wait,” he said.

He revealed that they used the opportunity to remind President Ruto of the promises he made to Trans Nzoia, noting that there was no time for political discussion.

The MCA suggested that the president had left Trans Nzoia behind in his development agenda, saying they presented the matter to him.

“We reminded him of the promises he made to us as Trans Nzoia people when we visited him in the White House, Nairobi. He told us he would improve the referral hospital and equip it, something we have not yet seen. We told him to remember Trans Nzoia in the tarmac road network. We also reminded him about the stalled title scheme and water projects. We reminded him of all that. He was recently in Kakamega and gave KSh 1.2 billion to complete the construction of the Bukhungu Stadium, we told him he should also remember the Stadium our Kenyatta,” he said.

Kutitila accused Senator Allan Chesang and Member of Parliament for Kiminini, Kakai Bisau, of abusing their closeness to the president to fight Natembeya.

He said the MCAs unanimously decided to talk to the president directly without using senators and MPs as a link.

Is Natembeya in the United Opposition?

The governor of Trans Nzoia has made it clear that he opposes Ruto’s administration, saying it has failed Kenyans. He is in the United Opposition, which has vowed to oust the president in the 2027 elections.

Will Natembeya run for president in 2027?

Former Prime Minister Stay Mudavadi and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula have been encouraging the voters of Western Kenya to support Ruto in the hope that the president will return the favor to them in 2032. But Natembeya strongly opposes that.

He leads the “Tawe Movement”, which is an awakening that broke away from the traditional political leaders of Western Kenya who have served in successive administrations for decades.
