Hello! The old time has passed as life opens a new chapter. As the new year approaches, I am here in Beijing, and I would like to wish you a happy new year.
The year 2025 is the year that completed the “14th Five-Year National Development Plan”. In the past five years, we worked hard and moved forward with determination. We achieved all the goals set by overcoming various difficulties and challenges, and taking decisive steps in a new journey to build modern things with Chinese specialties. Our country’s gross domestic product broke one record after another, this year it is estimated to reach 140 trillion yuan renminbi. The strength of our country’s economy, science and technology, national defense, and the overall strength of the nation has risen to a new level. Rivers and green mountains have become beautiful scenery, and people’s sense of profit, happiness, and security continues to increase. We have achieved this success by facing unprecedented problems. Everyone’s hard work and dedication is building a prosperous China. I would like to congratulate all the hard workers who made great efforts.
This year, the unforgettable things are that we have celebrated with great honor the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s war against the Japanese occupation and the victory of the world war against fascism, and we have established the Memorial Day of Taiwan’s Return to China. A great national celebration was held with pride, and the glory of the victory was written forever in history, inspiring all Chinese to remember the history, remember the heroes who made sacrifices, cherish peace, and establish the future, and also gather the great strength to achieve the great prosperity of the Chinese nation.
We have given productivity to high-quality development through innovation. Technology and economic sectors have become more deeply integrated, and the results of innovation have emerged at a faster pace. Large-scale artificial intelligence systems have emerged in abundance and progressed, independent chip research has achieved new achievements, and China has become one of the countries with the fastest growing innovation power in the world. Humanoid robots performed “kungfu style”, and drones produced spectacular fireworks displays in the sky. We used culture to feed and enrich the spirit of the people. There has been an increase in public interest in cultural relics, museums, and intangible cultural heritage. One of China’s cultural attractions was added to the World Heritage List. Cultural icons such as Wukong and Nezha have become world famous. People of the new generation have begun to see traditional Chinese culture as the best form of aesthetic expression. The cultural and tourism industries flourished. The “major league” soccer games in our towns and villages have attracted many fans. Ice and snow sports aroused people’s interest in winter. Tradition is now embracing modernity, and Chinese culture is shining brightly.
We have built together and enjoyed together a good life. When I visited the Xizang and Xinjiang regions to attend the festive activities, from the snowy highlands to the northern and southern areas of Tianshan Mountain, I have seen people of various ethnic groups holding hands and hearts, and hugging each other as closely as pomegranate seeds, showing their love for the nation and praising the happy life through white khata scarves and lively songs and dances. The work that concerns the lives of citizens is not a small matter. In the past year, groups of people who are employed or self-employed in various online platforms have gained more assurance of rights and interests, housing or infrastructure improvement projects based on the needs of the elderly have made life easier for the elderly, and families with young children have received an additional subsidy of 300 Yuan every month. If every small family enjoys everyday life, then our big Chinese family will prosper day by day.
We will continue to open the door and embrace the world. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, and the World Women’s Summit were held successfully, the Hainan Island Free Trade Port has been officially launched. To combat climate change more effectively, China has announced a new round of voluntary contributions to reduce carbon emissions. Following Recommendations ThreeI presented the Earth Management Proposal, with the aim of encouraging the creation of a fairer and more rational world management system. In today’s world where change and chaos are intertwined, some areas are still suffering from war. China has always stood on the right side of history, and is willing to cooperate with various countries in promoting world peace and development, and pushing forward the construction of a Human Community with a Common Future.
Not long ago, I attended the opening ceremony of the National Games held by the joint efforts of the three provinces of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the situation was encouraging. We need to firmly and fully implement the strategic plan of “One Country, Two Systems”, support Hong Kong and Macao regions to be better involved in the overall development plan of the nation, and maintain stability and long-term prosperity. The Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are related by blood, China’s main historical trend to achieve national unification is unstoppable!
The country cannot be strong without the prosperity of the Party. We have conducted training for the implementation of the eight disciplines of the Central Committee of the Party. We have built trust by fulfilling promises, and handling the affairs of the Party with strict discipline. We have punished bad actions in order to develop ourselves. The values of the Party and the government are improving day by day. We must hold on to our original intention and determination, make efforts without hesitation for a long time, and continue to answer the “Yaodong question” during Yan’an, in order to properly fulfill our responsibilities of this era to the people.
The year 2026 will be the first year of implementation of the 15th Five-Year National Development Plan. Those who start with a big goal will surely achieve great success, and those who succeed, plan well from the beginning. We must focus on our goals, strengthen faith and take advantage of opportunities, resolutely promote high-quality development, further promote reform and opening up in all fields, promote the common prosperity of all people, and open a new page of China’s miracle.
We are looking for dreams in mountains and seas, and distance cannot stop us. The journey is long, but we are moving forward with great strides.
