The actions of a young man at his late father’s grave have caused a lot of reactions online, with many giving different views.

The man used a hammer to demolish the well-tiled tomb, breaking the white tiles into small pieces.
He explained that his father died in 2001 when he was still a small boy and he fondly remembered the good life his father had given the family.
“He died on December 23, and I remember we were a very happy family. We buried him here two days later, December 25. It’s been 24 years, and that’s why I decided to make a change,” he said.
The young man noted that he had consulted with family members and encouraged them to join him in demolishing the tomb.

Why did a Tanzanian destroy his father’s grave?
After getting permission and cooperation from his father’s family, the man explained that the original design of the tomb was outdated.
He said he wanted to honor the memory of his beloved father by giving him a more modern design for the tomb.
Once the white tiles were removed, new shiny black tiles were installed, arranged in three stages.

At the top was a cross engraved with the dates of birth and death of the deceased, while the surrounding area was decorated with carefully selected small white stones, giving the tomb a pleasant appearance.
He encouraged others who have lost loved ones to remember them during the festive season by improving their final resting places.
“When you enjoy, remember your elders, who are the reason we are here today and can be successful in life,” he said.
