Geoffrey Ruku Says Kithure Kindiki Is Sick: “He’s Not Feeling Well”

Public Services Minister Geoffrey Ruku has revealed that he is the Deputy President Kithur Kindiki he is not in good health and could not attend the Kimalel Goat Auction in Baringo County.

Speaking at the event on Monday, December 22, Ruku informed the attendees that Kindiki sent him to represent him and buy a goat as a sign of solidarity with the people.

He explained that despite his illness, the deputy president donated money to the auction, stressing his commitment to the community.

“I have been sent by your deputy president, who is not feeling well. He told me to say my greetings to the people of Baringo when I arrived. He also sent me a lot of money to buy a goat for Christmas. So if you see that he is not here, know that he has sent me and is with you in his heart,” said Ruku.

Ruku also emphasized the need to replicate similar goat auction events in Mbeere Kasakini, Embu County, in 2026 in order to develop the people.

What did Ruku say about the food shortage?

Moreover, he congratulated the President William Ruto by prioritizing food security in areas affected by drought such as Taita Taveta, Mandera, and Turkana.

Ruku emphasized that sufficient resources are available to prevent hunger and encouraged local government administrators to quickly report any food shortage incidents so that aid can be provided.

He also assured Kenyans that the government has taken measures to ensure livestock in areas like Garissa, Wajir, and Turkana get enough food during the drought.

“We have made plans as a department to ensure that livestock affected by drought in the areas of Garissa, Turkana, Wajir and other areas get enough food. The government has enough resources to ensure that no Kenyan sleeps hungry because of lack of food,” he added.

Where is MP Ferdinand Wanyonyi?

At that time, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, confirmed that the First Member of Parliament Ferdinand Wanyonyi was sent to India for treatment after a month in Nairobi Hospital.

Wetang’ula said he spoke to the MP and he was recovering well.

His hospitalization in India was on the advice of doctors.

His confirmation happened while rumors were saying that the member of parliament had died.
