Amimo, who was the head of Mayienga FM collapsed and died on December 7, leaving his family and the media in mourning.
His wife recently shared how despite getting married at a young age, even before getting her KCSE certificate, Amimo, she made one promise which was to take care of him.
Festus Amimo’s mother told the deceased’s wife
He confirmed that he kept his promise until his death and that they would argue whenever he suggested getting a job or starting a business.
At his funeral, his mother also recalled how she lost all her wealth when her husband died and vowed not to do the same to her son-in-law.
The grieving mother also praised Rosie for taking such good care of her and noted that only death will do them part.
“I told him that there is nothing of his friend that I will discuss with him. Whether it is money, wealth or wealth. I will not argue with him about those things because I know how I argued about things when my husband died. They took KSh 1.3 million and I was left empty-handed with nothing for my children. My daughter, give me the little you get, the little I get, I will give to you,” he said.

How much did Oburu Oginga give Amimo’s wife?
Elsewhere, the new ODM party leader, Oburu Oginga, briefly attended Amimo’s funeral where he shared how his relationship with the journalist was.
He confirmed that he was not there to interfere in political matters and recalled how Amimo was a friend of their family and would advise him on many matters.
The ‘youth’ leader also shared how he was shocked to hear about his death because Amimo did not have any symptoms of illness.
He also gave his widow KSh 60,000 and his mother KSh 40,000 in tokens and wished them peace as they continue their lives without their guardian.
