Projects unveiled on Thursday, December 18, included a new Fire Station, Police Station and a Level IV Hospital.

What happened at Mukuru Hospital Level IV?

During his conversation with the residents, Ruto met a pregnant woman, Adhiambo, who had attended the hospital for her antenatal examination.

He expressed his happiness to finally meet the president and promised to name his child to be born in honor of the event.

“I have lived longing to see you. I even told my husband that I would go to Jamhuri to see you, but he said I should go because I could fall. Today, I say this child is a link to destiny because through him, I have met my destiny. This child that will be born, will be called Destiny Ruto,” said Adhiambo.

Ruto asked for her husband Adhiambo’s phone number so she could contact the family.

The woman noted that she was registered under the Community Health Authority (SHA) and received free treatment, although she was not aware of the new Linda Jamii program that replaced Linda Mama.

What does Linda Community cover?

The President explained that Linda Mama has been expanded to Linda Jamii, promising greater benefits.

This program covers pregnant women up to the time of delivery and also adds benefits to the children and their parents.

“Linda Mama has now been expanded to Linda Jamii. The benefits you received under Linda Mama will now be doubled or tripled with Linda Jamii,” he said.

He assured Adhiambo that he would visit her after giving birth while emphasizing the government’s commitment to improve maternal and child health services.

A Kisii woman names her sons Raila

In other news, a Kisii woman, Vane Nyanchoka, celebrated the birth of her four children—three boys and one girl.

He gave each of the boys the names of former prime minister Raila Amolo Odinga, while the girl was named Ida.

The family described their arrival as a miracle, noting that Nyanchoka had previously given birth to twins.

They said that the introduction of the names was a tribute to Raila, whom they considered a hero.
