Journalist of Citizen TV Hillary Okeyo has spoken out after her live broadcast on December 15 went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Okeyo, who is a photographer, came to report live from the fifth edition of the Piny Luo Festival in Migori County.
Despite not being a journalist, he used the opportunity to go on air when called by his elders.
However, his attempt to speak Kiswahili during the live report did not go as well as expected.
Viewers noticed his difficulty using the language, causing his video to go viral on social media. Many commented on his incomprehensibility, while others suggested that he should be allowed to report in English.

Speaking about the incident that went viral, Okeyo took to social media, revealing the many phone calls, text messages, and messages he received. Despite the noise, he showed no regrets about his performance.
“I’m not attractive to anyone because I took advantage of my whole life. Do I regret it? No. Am I happy? Yes. I’m attractive for the right reasons. Did I embarrass myself? No. I accepted, and that’s good for me,” Okeyo wrote.

The young man clarified that he is a photographer, not a journalist, and intervened at the request of his elders.
He assured his followers that he did not feel like a failure, as his superiors had not complained about his performance.
“Lots of calls, DMs, text messages. My phone rings every second. My bosses don’t complain. Why are you guys complaining?” he asked, expressing satisfaction at his decision to embrace the opportunity.
