As previously reported, Justice Ibrahim, a founding member of the Supreme Court, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, ending his judicial career that spanned more than two decades.

In a statement confirming his death, the Court said Judge Mohammed Ibrahim died after a long illness.

Joining other Kenyans in paying respect to the deceased judge, Muli took to social media to express his grief.

In a post shared on Wednesday, December 17, Muli revealed that Judge Ibrahim intervened as his father after the death of his biological father.

He said his death broke his heart, adding that he would always carry his memory with him.

“Dear father, you were a father after my father died. You are always in my heart. I will remember you,” he captioned a photo of the late judge.

Several institutions and prominent people also mourned the death of Judge Ibrahim.

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK), led by its president Faith Odhiambo, paid tribute to him.

In a post on X, Odhiambo described Judge Mohammed Ibrahim as a jurist of rare integrity and grace.

“I have received the sad news of the death of the Honorable Judge Mohammed Ibrahim, SCJ. Judge Ibrahim served on the Bench with unparalleled grace and exceptional intelligence. His rare calm spoke of a man who fully understood the power of the court as an opportunity to serve, and justice as a tool to maintain social stability,” he wrote.

Justice Mohammed Ibrahim was appointed to the first bench of the High Court in June 2011 and served diligently until his death.

He was highly respected for his calm demeanor, intellectual depth and independent arguments in some of the country’s most important cases.
