The two met during the IGAD Conference held in Nairobi on Wednesday, December 17.
How did Uhuru Kenyatta treat Crystal Asige? Uhuru took the stage to address the delegates, paused to make sure Asige felt included, and created a funny and memorable scene.
“Before I continue, I will start by following the example set by Crystal here,” Uhuru said, then continued to explain himself to the audience. “I am an African man, five feet and eleven inches tall and a little bit thinner, middle-aged on the upper side, slightly lighter chocolate color, I am wearing a white shirt, I have a slightly oval shape, and it’s just a little round,” he added, which caused laughter among the attendees.

The thoughtful gesture seemed to please Asige, who later took to social media to express his gratitude.
“A good comedian. I thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for seeing the importance of including the visually impaired people (VIPs) who were there by giving us a visual description of what he is like before he started his speech. He did well, didn’t he?” he wrote on Facebook.
In addition to the fun event, Uhuru gave a strong message to the youth, warning against the famous statement of ‘leaders of tomorrow’.
He encouraged the youth to take responsibility for shaping the future of Africa now.
“If you continue to believe that you are the leaders of tomorrow, that tomorrow will never come,” he said. “You are the leaders of today. Your ideas, your courage, and your personal dedication will shape the future of Africa,” he added.
On his part, Asige urged young leaders to pursue leadership with purpose, depth, and spiritual foundations. He encouraged them to strive for excellence that cannot be ignored.
