A young man from Nairobi County was found dead at the City Mortuary after being silent for several months, a situation that caused mixed feelings among his relatives.
When was Antony Mugambi’s body found?
Antony Mugambi’s body was found dead on Monday, December 15, leaving his family in pain and with many unanswered questions.
His cousin, Faith Karambu, announced his death through social media and advised Kenyans on what to do if their loved one goes missing.
“If your relative or friend goes missing and his phone keeps saying ‘the number you dialed is not available,’ please report it quickly and start looking for him in the hospital and in the morgue. Don’t wait. After about a week, the unclaimed bodies are burned.
I am writing this in great pain. My cousin disappeared, and his mother kept calling him but he couldn’t be found. Just the other day, his body was found lying in the City Mortuary, it has already started to rot,” he wrote bitterly.
Faith Karambu feels suspicious about Antony’s silence
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Karambu said he began to have doubts about his cousin’s whereabouts after staying silent for a long time.
Although he said Mugambi was a quiet and gentle man, his long silence was surprising as they were often talking.
“I thought he had cut off contact with me, or maybe the whole family, because he wasn’t talking to anyone. I even made a joke video online saying that whoever wants to cut contact with me, I will give him scissors to make the job easier. I didn’t know that my cousin was no longer alive,” he said.
Faith Karambu receives news of Mugambi’s death
On Monday, December 15, Karambu received a distressing call confirming a WhatsApp message that claimed 28-year-old Mugambi had died.

It was his friends who found his body, already decomposing, after starting an emergency search when they failed to reach him by phone.
“He was hit by a car in November and was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, he did not survive, and his body was taken to a crematorium.
The hospital was about to burn down. I was told several bodies had already been burned, and it was a miracle that his was still there,” he said.
Antony Mugambi’s social media accounts were hacked
Karambu also revealed that Mugambi’s social media accounts were allegedly hacked, all his photos and videos were deleted.
The accounts were also set to private, adding to his suspicions and making him wonder if there was more to his cousin’s death.
“Two months ago you traveled from Nairobi and attended our grandmother’s party. I had invited your mother and my other aunts to come and celebrate Christmas on the 25th. Now look what happened. What kind of pain is this?” he asked in pain.
