What is the Nyamira Family Saying After Losing 10 of Their Loved Ones?

Patrick Wanga, one of the family, said that police officers informed them that a truck lost control and exploded on the road before colliding with a car carrying their loved ones.

“The driver is also one of our family members. The truck that hit them was coming from Kisii, and the truck was heading towards Kisii. We even went to the accident site, and all I can say is to ask road users to be more careful, especially in this festive season,” Patrick said.

Another family member shared that he was informed about the accident around 8 pm.

At first he thought the accident happened in Nyamira, but later he realized it was a little far from home.

“I went to the scene of the accident, visited the police station, then went to the cemetery to identify the bodies,” he said.

The man expressed his pain with tears, noting that the accident took the lives of many people from the same family.

He added that they had recently buried another brother who died in an accident near the Sondu area.
