How was Governor Wamatangi received?

Governor Wamatangi was the target of shouting. Everything seemed arranged to show his shame.

When Ng’ang’a appeared on stage, he announced that he would be the governor of Kiambu, accusing the current governor of failing to fulfill his duties.

He was cheered with shouts by his supporters.

After that, Kururia invited Wamatangi to speak, introducing him as the outgoing governor and suggesting that Ng’ang’a will be the new county governor.

When Wamatangi spoke to the faithful, Ng’ang’a, wearing the scarf of the AIPCA women’s council, was seen urging the women to continue shouting for joy.

Also, a large crowd of people began to support the current governor, their cheers surpassed those of the group that had been hired, until they finally surpassed them.

What did the church members say?

The Member of Parliament for Thika and Kururia identified themselves as an elder and a member of the council, respectively, despite their public behavior raising questions about their legitimacy in those positions.

Some members of the church publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with the conduct of the MPs and have pleaded with the leadership to take strict measures to prevent such an incident from happening again.

“In recent days, Bishop Muthuri has done a lot to rebuild the honor of the AIPCA church, including bringing unity, but these efforts are being destroyed by this kind of conduct where two members of parliament who claim to be members of this church are seeking to bring in terrorists and remove church women from their church scarves to bring political violence,” said Joseph Kamau, a member of the church.

Kamau added: “The church should issue information about this matter and take disciplinary action against the two for bringing them public shame.”

Patrick Ndirangu said the group that had been hired had damaged the honor of the church and brought shame to the members of the AIPCA group.

“These women are honorable and cannot be deceived by politicians, as was confirmed yesterday in Gatundu. As a friend of the AIPCA churches and through my grandmother, I understand that their constitution and teachings do not allow women to wear scarves as was done yesterday. The AIPCA administration needs to explain how the decision came about that hired people can wear official scarves while wearing pants when their job was seen to be interfering with a certain leader,” he said.
