Residents of Nyeri and Kenyans in general have expressed their pride and joy after 22-year-old Truphena Muthoni completed her challenge of hugging a tree for 72 hours in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record.

While Kenyans are waiting for the record to be passed by the Guinness Book of World Records, many have shown their support and applauded his efforts in promoting environmental conservation and fighting deforestation.

Muthoni, on December 10, broke his record of hugging a tree non-stop for 48 hours. He took up the challenge to raise awareness about environmental conservation, climate change, and the fight against deforestation.

During the challenge, he honored people living with disabilities by being blindfolded.

After achieving the new record on December 11, Truphena was rushed to the hospital by her family and a few celebrities from Nyeri.

Why was Truphena rushed to the hospital?

In the video, the young woman was caught lying in an ambulance, weak and exhausted after standing without stopping while hugging a tree for three days.

Among those who planned his visit to the hospital is businessman Muthoni Kirumba, popularly known as Baby Top.

Standing for 72 hours without food or water, Truphena had to be taken for medical examination and examination.

“This was just a procedure to make sure he is in good health before continuing with any other activities related to his movement, including eating,” said his family.

Photos shared from the hospital showed him smiling but looking tired and sleeping, along with Baby Top, who had earlier promised to donate KSh 1 million from OdiBets.

How did Truphena prepare for 72 hours of hugging trees?

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that the 22-year-old woman said she prepared and practiced in advance for the challenge.

He walked for hours to increase his strength, walking 42 kilometers, and also practiced hugging a tree for 35 hours, followed by another session for 60 hours.

Truphena also shared that she ate one meal a day to ensure she was in good health to complete the three-day marathon.
