It all started around October when viewers noticed that he was absent from his regular episodes on Citizen TV. This made fans speculate whether he had left the station.

As the Jeff Koinange Live show continued to air, it was hosted by other broadcasters, causing confusion among viewers about the continued use of his name. Amid the uncertainty, false rumors about his death began to spread.

This prompted social media host Xtian Dela, who had previously worked with Jeff, to share a WhatsApp conversation with the journalist. He confirmed that the veteran writer was alive and well.

What did Jeff Koinange say about being faked to death?

On Wednesday, December 10, Jeff made a surprise appearance during the news. Videos shared by Citizen TV showed Ayub Abdikadir teasing what will happen next.

“Today, we’re recreating three consecutive words on the keyboard. JKL…” Abdikadir said, before Jeff entered the scene.

The two hugged as Jeff, clearly excited, laughed happily.

“They had killed me,” a happy Jeff said.

Then he announced:

“I’m back, as if I never left,” he said.

Abdikadir said he was happy to see Jeff back to work as he was preparing to welcome PLO Lumumba and Barrack Muluka.

Then Jeff sat in his chair to test how it felt.

“Can we test your fire extinguisher to see if it works?” Abdikadir asked. He sprayed the foam and confirmed that it was, indeed, working.

After the contestants settled into their seats, Jeff repeated the rumors surrounding him.

“The news of my death has been exaggerated. For 2,000 years, no one has risen from the dead,” he said, referring to biblical stories of resurrection.

“Thank you to everyone who supported me and sent me messages. I appreciate it,” Jeff said.
