James Mukhwana: Moses Wetang’ula’s Elder Brother Dies, Family and Friends Mourn

The family of the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula is mourning the death of their elder brother, Mwalimu James Mukhwana Wetang’ula.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday, December 10, by Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi, who shared a heartfelt tribute announcing the tragedy.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the death of my elder brother, Mwalimu James Mukhwana Wetang’ula,” Wanyonyi said. “As a family, it is painful and very sad, but we thank God for the gift of his life. As written in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

He described his late brother as a brave and honorable man whose legacy would continue to lead the family.

Mukhwana died almost a year after his mother’s death on December 20, 2024.
