According to the mock senator from Kakamega, Kenya has a history of presidents serving a second term in office.

However, Khalwale said that Ruto could be different and lose his bid for re-election if he plays his politics badly before the 2027 elections.

“The country has a history of all our presidents getting a second term. I don’t see why William Ruto should be different. The only way he can be different is if his politics are done wrong. You can win, and then you destroy,” Khalwale said.

Is the Kakamega senator worried about 2027?

The Kakamega senator also explained his previous warning to the leader of Kenya First Alliance that he would face a difficult election in 2027.

“It has not reached that stage. If I wanted to say that things are difficult, I would have said it. I said that things would be difficult, and that was not the first time I said that. I spoke about it during the funeral of Malulu Injendi when I said, ‘Mr. Sir, the more you progress, the easier it is for me to seek votes for you for re-election,'” said Kakamega.

Senator of UDA He insisted that President Ruto remains his preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

“Until now, President William Ruto has not failed to be the candidate I choose,” Khalwale added.

Did Boni Khalwale criticize Ruto’s leadership?

Khalwale’s positive comments about Ruto come despite him aligning himself with opposition leaders in recent by-elections.

In the Malava parliamentary by-election, Khalwale defied his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and supported Seth Panyako of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).

During the campaign, the Kakamega senator asked Kenyans to reject the rule of Kenya Kwanza Alliance in the 2027 elections.

Several times, the senator has been arrested while Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya criticized Ruto.

After a narrow vote, Khalwale was ousted from his position as Kiranja wa Wengi Seneti by the Kenya Kwanza Alliance team.
