Drama within the family started shortly after Betty’s funeral when her brother, Edward Kang’ethe Mbugua, took to social media, claiming that the family had not been informed of Betty’s illness until it was too late.
He also hinted that life in Betty’s family was not as smooth as it was portrayed, claiming that on the day she died, she received water bills and Wi-Fi waiting at his house.
A few days later, Betty’s mother joined the discussion, claiming that Tash had never officially married her daughter.
He continued to ask Pastor Kanyari to take care of his two children with Betty, saying that they were not in the right environment for their growth.
Additionally, he declared his intention to protect Betty’s assets as an inheritance for the children.
More importantly, he indicated that once he returns to Kenya from the United States, he would like Betty’s body to be exhumed so that an autopsy can be conducted to determine the exact cause of her death.

She urged Tash to respect her mother Betty’s wishes, describing her as a grieving parent who deserves to be understood.
“I have been silent and investigated things myself. I am very touched by what the woman is going through; it has touched me. I would like to ask Tash to listen to her wishes so that you do not get a curse from the deceased or her as a mother. Just listen to her, people may want to despise her, but I would never forget that she was her only child who was helping her. Even I, like Kanyari, will listen to her, even if they are my children. Tash, let’s just respect her, she is almost 70+ years old,” she explained.
Kanyari also hinted that the tension in Betty and Tash’s relationship started long before her death, claiming that they had separated months ago.
He also emphasized that he was not considering Betty’s assets and was only considering the welfare of all parties involved.
Despite the ongoing affair, Kanyari and Tash have maintained a respectful relationship, acknowledging that they share a shared role as fathers to Betty’s children.
