Sandra Dacha announced the death of Bilal, widely recognized for his roles in TV shows such as Bazenga, The Runaway, and Wimped.

He became famous through his work on the popular show Tahidi High on Citizen TV and also participated in the production of Pepeta, Lies That Bind, and Jela 5 Star on Maisha Magic.

Why was Bilal Wanjau buried quickly?

On Thursday, December 4, Sandra shared the news of Bilal’s death, explaining that it was linked to complications from diabetes.

Reports indicate that he had missed his medication by a few days, resulting in a diabetic coma.

Sandra, who had been helping Bilal lose weight in recent months, described his loss as a big blow to the Kenyan film industry.

What happened at Bilal Wanjau’s funeral?

He also shared that his funeral would be held on Friday, December 5, according to Islamic traditions, and asked that the family be kept in your prayers.

Nick Kwach was among the actors who attended the sacred ceremony at Bilal’s home in the countryside.

Kwach and Bilal had acted together, and he shared a play where the latter played the man dating Kwach’s ex-girlfriend, Aicy Stevens, which gave him a hard time when he went to pick up their child.

“Rest in peace, my brother, I am honored to participate in your art,” he wrote.

Kwach then posted a series of photos from the funeral with Aicy.

One photo showed them standing next to a new grave, which had many aloe vera plants on it. Some Kenyans wondered about the lack of flowers, and one fan pointed out that it was in line with Islamic customs.

In other news, a September video resurfaced showing Sandra accompanying Bilal to a weight-loss clinic during her own treatment journey.

She had started using Ozempic to support her slimming efforts and had reduced her weight from 152 kg to 135 kg by January, losing about a kilogram each week.

The clip captured the pair at the facility, with Bilal using a walking stick before later receiving an injection during his appointment.
