Siaya: A 35-year-old man is found dead after arguing with his mother about his sister’s dowry

Siaya – Police in the Alego Usonga area have launched an investigation following the death of a 35-year-old man.

On Sunday, November 23, residents of the small village of Kadenge were shocked after discovering the body of Nicholas Otieno in the village of Udura.

How Nicholas Otieno died in Siaya

Preliminary investigations indicate that the man committed suicide following a domestic dispute involving dowry cows paid to his elder sister.

Confirming the incident, the chief of Kadenge, Jacob Ouma, said that the family reported the incident after 9pm.

According to Citizen Digital, Otieno wanted her to have full control over the dowry cow, but her mother said she would only give him one calf.

Ouma revealed that the dowry had been paid during the ceremony held the previous day, and the deceased insisted that he wanted at least two cows.

The local chief said that the misunderstanding escalated into a fight before Otieno left home at 9pm on Saturday, November 22.

For luck Unfortunately, youths who were returning home from the funeral service discovered Otieno’s body, raised a cry and informed the family.

The police arrived at the area, transferred the body to the Siaya County Referral Hospital, and organized an investigation into what killed him.

In Kisii county, a family was engulfed in grief after their 54-year-old cousin was found murdered.

The search for the 54-year-old woman ended in pain after her body was found buried near the entrance of her house, where she was reported to be living with the man.

John Agwacha, aged 72, confessed to killing and burying his wife’s body near the gate of their house.

Agwacha, who was arrested by Kisii police, later changed his statement saying he did not know where his wife was.
