Kanyari recently lost his ex-wife, Betty Bayo, to cancer.

The gospel singer died on November 10 while receiving treatment at Kenyatta Hospital.

The mother of two was buried in a mournful ceremony at her home in Mugumo Estate, Kiambu county.

While crying and mourning the death of his ex-wife, Kanyari recalled their days together before they broke up, insisting that he loved her despite the breakdown of their relationship.

He shared several WhatsApp conversations with Bayo to confirm they were on good terms and were talking regularly as part of their co-parenting process.

Kanyari admitted that he was heartbroken:

“You didn’t deny them permission to see their father, you didn’t leave poison in their hearts. Instead, you cared for them with love. I always laughed with you when the children came, saying ‘I am the one,’ but it was said in jest. Basically, I respected the decision you made to continue with your life,” he said.

A few days after Bayo’s funeral, Kanyari shared a video showing the cash he received from his employees and friends.

The pastor of The Salvation Healing Ministry looked happy when he opened the brown letter with the money.

“Condolences from my employees and friends. Ghaii! You give him money, and I didn’t ask for them? Jesus! All this money for condolences?”

On November 20, during Bayo’s funeral, her ex-husband, Kanyari, amused mourners with his awe-inspiring tribute to his beloved.

The father of two recalled how they first met, their early days of relationship, and how quickly they moved in together, just months before giving birth to their first child.

He spoke about their separation, apologizing to Bayo for what he did to him after the 310 scandal. Kanyari’s speech made the mourners laugh to the point of uncontrollable laughter, which angered Bishop Michael Wanderi.
