He cited unresolved concerns such as the plight of junior high school teachers, the allocation of KSh 7 billion to private universities for government-funded students, and the recent strike by lecturers.

“If you are the president and you have to be told what to do, then leave and let’s elect someone who understands the responsibilities of the office. Kenyans are suffering.

That is why I have decided that he must serve for one term only. Those who sing ‘Tutam’—we respect you and we need the same respect. There is no way to wake up early just to hear the cries of teachers, doctors, and people across the country. This man must go home,” Sifuna announced.

The senator also explained his absence from the State of the Nation address and other presidential meetings, saying he avoids platforms where opposition is silenced.

“We are forced to do hard work, and that’s not how it should be. I don’t always attend his meetings because the law says when the president speaks, we all have to be silent, even if he’s lying. If you cough, you’ll hear ‘Sifuna is gone for six months.’ It is better for me to stay, and after the meetings, I will return to continue fighting,” he said.

He dismissed Ruto’s ambition to make Kenya like Singapore, saying that the president misunderstands the country’s history.

“Singapore rejected corruption, has a strong health system, and does not have lecturers’ strikes. Ruto was in previous governments but he never made Kenya look like Singapore. He is not good for the country,” Amisi said.

Amisi further emphasized that Sifuna should rise to become a national leader to drive reform and change.

“The next election, General Z will bring us home. Before that happens, let’s bring these people home. Release Sifuna as the leader of this country to fight for the nation,” he urged.

Furthermore, he said that all the leaders who served in the government of the late former president Daniel Moi must leave the positions they held.
