Paul Barasa has been experiencing constant pain since he was involved in a serious road accident weeks ago.

He injured his hand and was unable to get proper and professional treatment due to financial challenges.

How did Paul Barasa cover his injured hand?

As a result, his condition continued to worsen over time, making his life more difficult.

“I had to wrap a cloth around it because the wound was getting bigger and was oozing pus and blood. I couldn’t do much at that time, but I had to find a solution on a small budget,” he told TUKO.co.ke.

Barasa, who was left by his wife after he failed to take care of her and their large family, had to find alternative ways to work and feed his children.

With eight children watching over her, she covered up the injury and took odd jobs to earn an income.

Why was Paul Barasa’s hand cut off?

“It wasn’t easy because not many employers believed in me with my injured hand. I couldn’t work well with them. Some believed I would spoil them, so finding a job was difficult,” he said.

For luck good, he was able to find well-wishers who promised to help him and help him get better medical services.

He was taken to the hospital, and despite the doctors’ efforts to save his arm, they had no choice but to amputate it.

“They said it would affect other parts of my hand and it would be worse. I could lose my whole hand. So they had to cut it off as they saw fit. Now I have no hand, and I have no helper. I have children who depend on me for everything. I have no hope,” he said.

What is the desire of Paul Barasa?

Barasa is asking for help to get a prosthetic hand so that he can return to normal work and take care of his family.

He congratulated well-wishers who paid his first surgery bill when his arm was amputated.

However, he needs more help to get a prosthetic arm, which is expensive.

“I want to work and earn an income, but with one hand it is not possible. I don’t want much from Kenyans, just money in hand so that I can work for my children. I believe it is possible. I pray that God will touch people’s hearts as he did before,” he said.
