The investigation into a road accident that left a man in a coma and his girlfriend with minor injuries has taken a new turn after he regained consciousness and pointed the finger of blame at his girlfriend.

Daniel Waterman and his girlfriend Leigha Mumby were involved in a serious accident a few months ago, and he broke his neck and back and went into a medically induced coma.
Report of Inside Edition shows that when the accident happened, Daniel was sitting in the back seat, while his girlfriend Leigha was the driver.
Video shared from the scene of the accident shows the Honda crashed into a bush and a distraught Leigha was heard calling out for Daniel, thinking he had already perished in the crash.
He was rushed to the hospital and passed out. However, the incident took a new turn after Daniel confessed, shortly after waking up from his coma.
Unable to speak, he used a special message board to accuse his lover of deliberately hitting the car out of jealousy and anger.
He quoted him as saying the following, before causing the accident on purpose. “I don’t care what happens, you get what you deserve.” Sadly, after eight months, the young man died in the hospital after being injured.

Was Leigha arrested for the death of Daniel Waterman
Leigha was arrested while visiting the 22-year-old in hospital and is now charged with vehicular manslaughter, but has since pleaded not guilty.
While mourning him, Daniel’s mother painfully wondered why Leigha allegedly hit the car on purpose.
“There is no doubt in my mind that it was a deliberate accident,” he said.
It is said that Leigha informed her boyfriend that she was pregnant before confronting him about the messages she had received from another woman.
Daniel Waterman’s aunt cried for him
Through her Facebook page, Daniel’s aunt wrote a sad note promising to fight for him even after his death
“He just wanted to come home to his family that loved him so much. Now you can rest easy, Daniel your battle is over but we will not stop fighting for you,” he said.
He said Daniel was born in January 2003 and died in October 2025, several months after fighting for his life.
A couple from Kiambu died in an accident
