Migori: A teacher at Chief Kawisa Comprehensive School in Uriri was found dead a day after he went missing.

The body of Douglas Okinyi Otiko was discovered on Friday, November 14.
What happened to Douglas Otiko?
Otiko was last seen at Kabogo Center after administering the KCSE exam.
His body was later found near the Kuja River with serious injuries, which raised the possibility of murder.
The police initially claimed that the teacher drowned in the water, but the branch did not KNUT Rongo denied the allegations and insisted that there is no evidence to show that he died in the water.
While disputing the claims of drowning, KNUT Rongo secretary, Eunice Bosco, described the incident as unacceptable, saying there were obvious injuries.
He said: “The next day in the evening, he was found by the river with his eyes gouged out, his ear cut off, his head badly beaten and swollen to the extent that he does not look like a human being. There is not a single evidence that shows he died in the water. The body is perfectly fine and even the stomach is not swollen. We will not accept it,” said Bosco.

Will the teachers organize a protest over the death of Douglas Otiko?
The party has given the security agencies 14 days to arrest the suspects in what they call a case of murder, warning that there will be protest if no action is taken.
Deputy Chairman Christian Omondi added that the incident has caused fear and sadness among teachers during this examination period.
He asked the authorities to give clear answers about the circumstances of the death while the party is waiting for the autopsy report.
He said: “From Uriri to Migori, we want the authorities to tell us clearly what killed the teacher and the steps they took while we wait for the autopsy.”
Why did teachers threaten to stop KCSE exams?
In another statement, the Association of Secondary School Teachers (KUPPET) warned that the KCSE examinations in Kakamega county may be suspended if the authorities do not take immediate action following the killing of Simon Isiaho, the principal of Munyuki PAG Secondary School.
Isiaho’s body was found in the Kipkaren River after being missing for several days.
The chairman of KUPPET in Kakamega county, Johnston Wabuti, announced that the party was ready to remove school principals from examination centers unless those who killed the principal were arrested.
He emphasized that the headmaster’s body had obvious injuries, showing the seriousness of the incident.
After the discovery, the Member of Parliament for Lugari, Nabii Nabwera, threatened to sue the three Kakamega bloggers and demanded compensation of KSh 20 million for allegedly defaming him after linking him to the disappearance of the school principal.
