Embu – Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has criticized his successor, Rigathi Gachaguain the campaigns held for the Mbeere North by-election.
How did Kindiki criticize Rigathi Gachagua
On Tuesday, November 18, Kindiki walked in Mbeere North campaigning for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate, Leonard Muriuki Wamuthende Leo.
In his meetings, Kindiki cultivated Gachagua, who has also appeared in the area supporting the candidate of the Democratic Party of Kenya (DP), Newton Karish.
Kindiki accused his successor claiming that he is using the campaigns to mock local leaders, including Governor Cecily Mbarire.
The second leader in office in the country said those who come out to protest the results and ridicule the local leaders held high positions in the government before but did nothing to improve the lives of the people of the area.

“You did nothing when you were in power, now you are here yelling at us and mocking the leaders of Embu appointed by the people. This cannot be changed and the era of pride and mockery is over,” said Kindiki.
The deputy president confirmed that the government coalition fully supports the candidate Leo, noting his efficiency and good chance to develop existing projects and advance the development of the state.
Does the opposition plan to bring violence to Mbeere North?
At the same time, Kindiki warned the Opposition against continuing the violence in Mbeere North before the November 27 by-election.
The second leader of the country said some opposition leaders have allowed the use of violence to destroy peace in the area.
According to Kindiki, the government of Kenya First of President William Ruto will not allow any form of violence in the by-election.
“We cannot allow some people to incite us against each other when we know the challenges we are going through as people of Mount Kenya East. We have no problem with our opponents, but we cannot allow one person who supports the rebels to destroy the peace of our people of Embu and Mbeere North,” warned the Deputy President.

Why does UDA want Gachagua not to participate in the campaign in Mbeere North?
Party of UDA has requested the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) prevent Gachagua from campaigning for Karish.
Gachagua has been campaigning door to door, urging residents to vote for the DP candidate.
UDA’s lawyer, Adrian Kamotho, reassured Mbarire’s concerns, noting the presence of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) in the Mbeere North by-election.
According to Kamotho, DCP does not have a candidate in the Mbeere North by-election; therefore, they can easily bring violence as they have not signed the electoral code of conduct and IEBC.
