All prominent MPs of the party met in Mombasa on Friday, November 14, for the event, except Babu, who was said to have been involved in personal commitments.
Although every ODM leader was at the coast, the MP remained in Nairobi.
In updates shared on his social media, Babu said that he was invited as the chief guest at the graduation ceremony of the Tricent School of Medicine and Health Sciences and Technology in Nairobi.
“It was an honor and a joy to stand in front of the graduates today as the chief guest at an important stage in their lives. Today was not just a celebration; it was a celebration of years of commitment, dedication, curiosity, and growth. It was an honor for the many late nights, early mornings, and many times when giving up seemed easy, but they chose perseverance instead,” Grandpa wrote on Facebook.
Later he attended different events in the city, where he was recognized as the best performing MP.
It should be noted that he did not share any posts acknowledging the ongoing ODM celebrations.
His supporters questioned his silence, while others urged him to take some time before the ceremony ends on Saturday, November 15.
“You mean you’re not in Mombasa?” asked Nyajohn Emmah.
“I thought you were in Mombasa. Anyway, congratulations, our president of 2032,” said Janet Odhiambo.
“You should be in Mombasa with Babu,” said Iliah Adala
“Grandfather, you are our hope; we needed you in Mombasa today, please,” said Paul Omolo.
“I see many people feel like you should be in Mombasa. Please try to attend… Meanwhile, congratulations to the new graduates,” said Elly Athuol Cde.
