Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, who was elected on Ruto’s United Democratic Party (UDA) ticket, said that the head of state had every reason to be re-elected, as his record of progress spoke for itself.

“There are people who have served in the government for decades. Some have been in power since I was in the second grade, but they could not even build a paved road to their village. These are not the kind of people we will give them a chance to address us,” Mbai said when he accompanied Ruto in the Nzombe area to launch a road construction project.

Nimrod Mbai criticized Kalonzo

Clearly mentioning the former vice president and leader of the Wiper Patriotic Front Kalonzo MusyokaMbai said that the leader who is part of the United Opposition had nothing to offer the people after being in political office for a long time.

“I have only worked with Ruto for three years, and here we are, launching the construction of a tarmac road. He chose a political outsider like me who was just a security officer to work with and see what he would do,” the MP added.

The influential MP said that those opposed to Ruto should find another place to sell their agenda, as Kitui East was satisfied that Ruto had all the solutions to their urgent needs.

“There are people who like to speak badly about the president. They cannot complete their speech without defaming the president. I want them to know that Kitui East has declared them as unworthy people, they are not welcome here,” Mbai said while Ruto was pleased.

Mbai said that he will do everything necessary to ensure that Ruto is re-elected and serves his second and final term to benefit the people of Kitui East more.

“Let those who want to say what they want to say, but we will also say what we believe is right. We will vote for you again, whether you like it or not,” Mbai said.

He urged those planning to campaign against Ruto in Kitui East to think twice, in a statement that appeared to undercut his authority over the political climate of his constituents.
