Kisumu Female Representative Ruth Odinga has answered the question of whether he will run for any political seat in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during an interview with Nam Lolwe FM on Wednesday, October 12, Ruth confirmed that as one of the founding members of ODM, he can contest any seat under the party’s ticket.
“Which political party will I run for? I am a founding member of the ODM Party, and if I run for any seat in 2027, then it can only be through the Orange Party. But what will the party be like in 2027 if we do not support it to make it a strong national party?” Ruth questioned.

The most influential politician took the opportunity to hint at running for the presidency in the expected elections.
He prided himself on his political prowess, proving that he has what it takes to take on the President William Ruto.
“And there is nothing stopping me from running for the presidency. I have everything needed to compete for the highest political seat in the country. But first things first; I want to see a vibrant ODM that is a safe place for everyone,” Ruth said.
Ruth Odinga calls for the strengthening of the ODM party
He argued that his main goal was to have a strong and vibrant ODM again before focusing his energies on his political wishes.
In a bid to want ODM to go beyond its usual strongholds in Nyanza and the Coast, Ruth called on all political aspirants running under the party’s ticket to join him in strengthening the base of the party.
“There are those who have already announced their intention to contest for the Kisumu gubernatorial seat in 2027. I invite them to join me in this movement to ensure that we cross the traditional stronghold of the ODM party and bring in more members,” he added.

His remarks came after the Member of Parliament for Alego-Usonga, Sam Atandi and the Member of Parliament for Nyando, Jared Okello, claimed that Raila’s death left them vulnerable.
Ruth said that such allegations risk undermining the stability of the Luo community, which has been long-standing for several years.
The MPs had suggested that since Raila is no longer there, they should support the head of state, pointing out that being a rebel will not work.
