Mother of 4 Homa Bay is gifted with a beautiful house after her husband passed away

The tears of sadness and pain of a woman from Kanyamwa Kologi Ward, Ndhiwa County, Homa Bay County, have finally been wiped away after years of suffering.

Esther Achieng’ Akulo was facing many challenges since the death of her beloved husband.

When did Achieng’s husband die?

She was left with a heavy burden on her shoulders to take care of their young children following the great tragedy.

A source shared the 29-year-old woman’s story with TUKO.co.ke before she received a wonderful gift that changed her life.

“She lost her husband in 2018. At that time she was still young, about 22 years old. Her husband died in an accident and left her with a heavy burden,” said the source.

Achieng’ was very dependent on her husband, and after his sudden death, life became more difficult.

Achieng’ joined which group of widows?

For a long time, Achieng’ and his children continued to live in a mud house that was in bad condition, without the ability to move to a better house or even to repair the one they lived in.

The mud house had badly rotted tins, a sign of the harsh poverty they were living in.

She later joined a group of widows known as Kobodo Widows, which helped him in various ways including enabling him to raise his family.

Through the Women Empowerment Program (WEP), the program opened doors to new opportunities for widows like her.

Internal Security Ministry Secretary Raymond Omollo, helps widow Achieng’

Secretary of the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo, gained recognition for helping widows in need.

He recognized Achieng’ and, together with his team, decided to build him a better home.

Achieng’ was rewarded with a brand new house next to the old one, with furniture and food.

He received a beautiful sofa and a wooden table for the living room when he moved to a new residence.

He was also given food and other household goods, a sign of a new beginning after years of hardship.

Along with his children, Achieng’ expressed great joy and gratitude for the gift of love as they looked forward to a life with new hope.

The new house was built in a large plot with a field behind it and another house next door.

It stood out in the neighborhood not only for its bright color but also for its modern design. This was not the first time for the PS to help widows, as he has a history of helping them many times.

Another Homa Bay widow gets a new home

In another incident in Homa Bay, the PS built a house for an old widow whose husband had been hacked to death.

The widow, Susan Akinyi Okoth, from Lang’o Orawo Village, Kadik Sub-Area, North Ward, Karachuonyo State, was filled with tears of joy after receiving the gift.

Susan, also a mother of four school-aged children, was facing more challenges than living in a poor house.

In addition, he was suffering from high blood pressure due to his old age.

Another big challenge was to send her children to school as her husband, who was killed in the night, was the breadwinner of the family.
