Maricus Owino is involved in an accident
Owino’s final hours remain shrouded in confusion and unanswered questions, according to earlier reports shared by his wife, Scholastica Achieng Odhiambo.
Scholastica revealed that the teacher was involved in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident near the Kisumu Boys Gate, near the Aga Khan Hospital.
Despite sustaining a head injury, he was alert enough to be rushed to the Kisumu County Referral Hospital (KCRH) by good Samaritans.
However, when he arrived at the hospital, the friends who brought him were reportedly involved in a conversation with medical staff, with each side giving conflicting accounts of what happened at the nursing facility.
Without identification and a phone, Owino could not be immediately contacted, and those who accompanied him allegedly refused to give their own details.
Maricus Owino’s final moments
Shortly after, the friends contacted his family and were instructed to wait for them at the hospital.
But instead of staying or taking Owino to the Aga Khan Hospital as he claimed, they left KCRH with him at about 6:59 p.m.
Later they informed his brother that they had put him in the three of Kibos Route 7-11 and asked the conductor to drop him off at Kamakaa Platform along Kibos Road so he could return home.
That was the last time anyone saw him alive.
