Popular media presenter Kamene Goro has opened up about his work with his former colleague, Andrew Kibe.

Did Kamene Goro and Andrew Kibe work together?
The power duo began their radio careers at NRG Radio in March 2018, where they hosted a morning show, known as the NRG Radio Breakfast Club.
In June 2019, they were roped in by Kiss FM owned by Radio Africa Group to host the Morning Kiss breakfast show. Their move was controversial and resulted in their former employer, NRG Radio.
Kibe left Kiss FM in 2020 and later moved to the United States, and became a digital designer, while Kamene continued Kiss FM and co-presenters before finally leaving the station in 2023.
Did Andrew Kibe violate labor laws?
Their show was supposed to start at 12 am, but in a new interview with Mic Cheque, Kamene has revealed that he was doing the first hour alone.
According to the radio queen, Kibe would come late (7am), and even after being late, she would still take a 30-minute break every hour to meditate.
“He would come at 7 am. I did 1 am alone and after every hour he would take a 30-minute break. He needed to meditate,” Kamene said.
“You mean he only worked for an hour if you put it all together,” one of the announcers asked and Kamene confirmed with yes.
He continued:
“He needed to meditate for 30 minutes every hour. Going to say hello to Bob Marley.”
When asked if the bosses were not complaining about Kibe’s work ethic, Kamene said:
“He was like that at NRG Radio. Time was not his strength and he is not someone you can tell him what to do. And that’s right, it also helped me perfect my craft. It’s very easy for me to even do a show by myself… Anyone who worked in his position created an environment to be able to adapt. There were Kamene’s rules and Kibe’s rules. Things that were done to me, he was not done. For example, I had to do an air check, he never did that.. Maybe they were afraid of him.. I don’t know,” Kamene said.

Kamene also revealed that he and Kibe were earning the same salary and it was Kibe who discussed his salary at Kiss FM.
“He negotiated my previous salary because we got the same salary,” Kamene added.
How has fame changed Kamene Goro?
Earlier, the media personality said he had to change his lifestyle after becoming famous.
According to Kamene, he stopped doing everyday things, including going to the supermarket.
