Speaking during a meeting of ODM delegates in Mombasa on Saturday, November 1, Sifuna criticized Ruto for claiming that Raila Odinga is his only competitor in the 2027 election.

Can ODM defeat Ruto in the 2027 general election?

Sifuna said that Raila prepared ODM members, and thus each of them has the ability to defeat Ruto in the much anticipated election.

“If we decide to represent our party leader in 2027, people will return home. If we decide to choose Abdulswamad or other deputy party leaders, we will win the election. If you say that you, SG, should run for the presidency, we will win the election very early in the morning,” he said.

He further expressed his disappointment with Ruto’s remarks, saying that ODM party members have the same reputation as the deceased veteran politician.

“I have heard that there are people who say that Raila was their only competitor. There is someone who told us that a lion’s cub is a lion. They will be very surprised,” Sifuna said.

He went on to attack Ruto and the Kenyan government Kwanza, saying that he is aware of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that ODM signed with UDA.

He said that he is very familiar with the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding because he was involved in its drafting.

“I wrote a statement in the Memorandum of Understanding saying that the agreement does not have an alliance agreement with the UDA. There is. Ruto and Baba signed it,” Sifuna said.

Sifuna made his remarks after Ruto appeared to disparage the United Opposition. He told the team led by the former vice president, Rigathi Gachaguaand the leader of the Wiper Patriotic Front party, Kalonzo Musyoka, that they need to find an agenda.

Ruto said that policies that bring change in the country are what the people are looking for, claiming that saying wantam is not enough.

Did Sifuna slander Kithure Kindiki?

During the same event, the Deputy President, Kithur Kindikihe was not left out. Sifuna also criticized him when he accused him of confusing voters.
